Pacific Eye is seeking the community’s help in selecting worthy 501(c)(3) organizations to participate in their annual Pacific Eye Gives Back Challenge. By year-end, Pacific Eye will have donated $55,000 to local non-profits since the inaugural challenge in 2012.
The challenge is designed to highlight the outstanding organizations that make positive change visible on the Central Coast. Community members and local non-profit representatives are invited to nominate their organization of choice online via Pacific Eye’s website, Facebook, or in-person at one of their five locations in San Luis Obispo, Lompoc, Santa Maria, Pismo Beach, and Paso Robles. Nominations will be accepted until midnight on October 13, 2017.
Pacific Eye’s team of physicians will review all nominations and select 10 non-profits to move forward on to the voting round of the challenge. Voting will open to the public on October 23, 2017. Participants may vote once a day for the duration of the contest, which closes at midnight on Thanksgiving Day. The non-profit organizations with the most votes will receive donations totaling $10,000, to be awarded in December.
This is the sixth year Pacific Eye is organizing the contest. Top donations in 2016 went to Along Comes Hope, RISE, and Peoples’ Self-Help Housing. This year, Pacific Eye is optimistic that community participation will reach an all-time record. For more information, visit Pacific Eye’s website or email Robert Thielscher.
