The Open Payments Program, also known as the Sunshine Act, requires pharmaceutical and medical device companies to report payments and transfers of value they make to healthcare providers, including physicians and teaching hospitals. This includes payments for services, research, travel, and more.

The Federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act Requires that detailed information about payment and other payments of value worth over ($10) from manufacturers or drugs, medical devices, and biologics to physicians and teaching hospitals be made available to the public.
